The Value of Giving Back to Charity

Today is International Day of Charity, so named for the anniversary of the death of Mother Theresa, one of the most philanthropic and charitable humans ever.

Here at Blue Wagon Group, we are fully on board with giving back and supporting non-profits with our time, talent, and treasure. As they say, you get what you give … and it’s our experience that we reap exponentially larger benefits (in more ways than you can count) when we sow seeds of charity.

Whether your personal interests lean toward humanitarian causes (as did Mother Theresa’s) or toward political, religious, environmental, medical research, civil and human rights, health, sports, education, or animal rights, we urge you to find a worthy charitable organization and lend your support. Not just today but year-round.

In addition to our personal give back with women’s rights, civil liberties and dog rescue, we find immense gratification professionally in doing good work round the clock with two important non-profits, the American Heart Association and Oceana. We proudly count them as valued clients on our roster.

We began our work for the American Heart Association (AHA) about five years ago. We support health promotion initiatives like Healthy for Life, Together Tuesdays, Food is Medicine, and Healthy for Good Eat Smart, and our project work on these consumer-facing outreach programs is making a difference in our nation’s health. Blue Wagon Group also is on the team that works with the AHA to profile new, cutting-edge research and medical studies. The organization unveils its research at the Scientific Sessions meeting and conference each fall and our team has played an integral part in the process for the last five years.

Moving from a healthy body to a healthy world is not a big leap for us, so we also place great value on our work for Oceana, the leading voice internationally for critical work to protect and restore the world’s oceans. Our partnership with this respected organization goes back about three years and our projects range from supporting its campaigns to boots-on-the-ground writing work for Oceana’s magazine.

We proudly devote ourselves personally to making a difference in the world through our support of a myriad of worthy organizations and, professionally, to meaningful work with the American Heart Association and to Oceana, among others.

If you’re not already involved with a non-profit, today would be an excellent time to begin … on International Day of Charity.
