A client said this phrase to me the other day. Little sparks lit up in my brain. How is it that I’ve never heard these words of wisdom?
It has stuck with me. And I keep thinking about other areas of life it applies to, not just work – relationships, fitness, the daily grind.
But in communications work, it can be especially applicable. Often when a task, a campaign, a program, or a client relationship just doesn’t seem to be working the way we expected, we are quick to give up on it and move on to something else.
Perhaps we should rest, rather than quit. Take a little time to reevaluate and rethink; then restart, readjusting as needed.
What’s your strategy for resting, instead of quitting?
