Celebrating Young Talent on International Youth Day

Today is International Youth Day, a time to celebrate “the qualities and contributions of young people around the world and recognize the challenges they face in areas including education, employment, health, and civic participation.”

While the official party line is to use the day as a “platform to raise awareness of the issues affecting youth and to amplify their voices in shaping the future of their communities and nations,” here at Blue Wagon Group, we’d rather put the celebration in sharper focus and recognize the gifts and talents we see day in and day out in our own orbit with Megan and Anna, two of our younger team members who are vital to Blue Wagon’s culture. And then we’d like to zoom out and showcase a few other young people we’ve had the pleasure of profiling recently for our client, the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Megan and Anna
Megan Kitzmiller Bradley is our newest consultant and boy, did she come into our world in a big way. We brought her on to beef up our social media expertise and Megan was the perfect choice. Just check out her recent blog, a comprehensive dive into the best social media management tools out there. She handles a remarkable workload for us with great attention to detail and professionalism, all while maintaining a busy life that includes a toddler.

Anna Bock came to us early last year after interning for our client at the American Heart Association. Anna not only holds a bachelor’s in journalism but has worked as an EMT and is currently completing her PA degree. All this while maintaining work for BWG as one of our go-to pros for healthcare communications and writing.

Both of these young women make us a better team here at BWG and have enormously bright futures ahead.

DAR Scholarship Winners
Blue Wagon Group is proud to support the communication and public relations team at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). We recently helped spread the word about this organization awarding $25,000 each to 10 young people studying history. This generous $250,000 gift was part of DAR’s celebration marking the 250th anniversary of America’s founding.

In a word, our interaction with these students was inspirational. These 10 students all certainly earned this remarkable monetary award and our Blue Wagon Group team found it so inspiring to learn about the varied backgrounds, abilities, and vigor of this group of students. They are already solidly making a difference in this world, each in their own way. We hope you’ll take a moment to click through to the news release and read a little about each of them.

Conversationally, we hear many people complain about how “kids these days” have it all wrong, are wayward, entitled, and generally on a downward trajectory. Here at Blue Wagon Group, we’d see quite the opposite. What we see in our day-to-day interactions with today’s younger generation gives us great encouragement and hope for the future.

That’s the way we’d like to celebrate International Youth Day.
